In Travel Show each team plans, rehearses and film a short travel documentary of the local area/city. It builds on the popularity of many travel/food related television shows around the world.
How It Works
Delegates are split into teams and each team is given different categories with clear criteria for their travel show. They then have to plan and develop a storyboard before going out and about making to produce their travel show. As with the real travel documentary world, they will have a video cameras, tripods, maps or a guide book with some cash to plan their route.
Careful planning is required before shooting their documentary live! A challenging exercise in high-performance team work, where an effective strategy supported by clear lines of communication will be critical to success.
The documentaries are shown when the teams return to the conference room.
Learning and development outcomes
Becoming a highly efficient on-location film production unit is a demanding challenge. Teams need to plan resources, decide on who will play each role - presenters, camera crew, sound, location management, props and director. This fun and rewarding event is a great way for participants to discover themselves, each other and their local surrounds. A highly rewarding shared experience that can be used for review and reflection, long after the activity is over.
